HackensackUMC Palisades Announces Community Service Merit Scholarship Program For Local High School Students

HackensackUMC Palisades (formerly Palisades Medical Center) has announced a new Community Service Merit Scholarship Program that will provide $32,000 in scholarship funding for students at eight local high schools in the hospital’s primary service area.

The HackensackUMC Palisades Community Service Merit Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and reward high school seniors who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in community service while maintaining academic success. Two graduating seniors (class of 2017) from each of the following high schools will be selected to each receive a merit scholarship in the amount of $2,000:

  • Cliffside Park High School
  • High Tech High School — North Bergen
  • Hoboken Charter School
  • Hoboken High School
  • Memorial High School — West New York
  • North Bergen High School
  • Union City High School
  • Weehawken High School

We know that paying for college can be challenging and hope that this Community Service Merit Scholarship will help lessen the burden for the deserving recipients.”

The online application process will be open from February 14, 2017 through March 31, 2017. Recommendations will be made by high school guidance counselors and scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee of community volunteers. Scholarship recipients will be announced on May 5, 2017.
