Our pediatric rheumatology team is led by Anna Carmela Gironella, M.D., who is board certified and fellowship-trained. She has extensive experience treating children with rheumatologic conditions – whether it be autoimmune or inflammatory diseases, or conditions causing pain in muscles, joints or connective tissues.

Dr. Gironella works with our pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, pain management specialists, child life specialists, infection control specialists, hematologists, gastroenterologists and other pediatric subspecialists to provide children with the most comprehensive care to manage the most complex rheumatologic disorders. With seamless access to the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center, pediatric patients have access to national and international research initiatives providing the latest advances in therapy.
