Types of Breast Cancer We Treat

We offer comprehensive services for all types of benign and cancerous breast conditions, including:

• Ductal carcinoma in situ, an early, noninvasive form of breast cancer where abnormal cells have developed in the lining of a breast duct but have not spread to other breast tissues.
• Inflammatory breast cancer, an invasive breast cancer that affects the breast’s lymph system. It makes the breast appear swollen and warm as if it were infected.
• Invasive ductal carcinoma, the most common type of invasive breast cancer. It begins in the lining of the breast’s milk ducts but can spread to other tissues through the blood and lymph systems to other parts of the body.
• Invasive lobular carcinoma, an invasive breast cancer that originates in the breast’s milk glands and then spreads to normal tissue.
• Triple-negative breast cancer, the most aggressive form of breast cancer. This type lacks estrogen and progesterone receptors and large amounts of HER2/neu protein, which are the three most common receptors that “feed” breast cancer.

We also offer treatment for benign (non-cancerous) breast conditions, which are very common, and most women have them. Unlike breast cancers, benign breast conditions are not life-threatening, but can be related to a higher risk of getting breast cancer later on.
