Types of Thoracic and Esophageal Cancer We Treat

We treat nearly every cancer of the chest, lungs and esophagus, including:

• Small cell lung cancer is an aggressive, fast-growing cancer that forms in the lung’s tissues and can spread to other parts of the body. It includes small cell carcinoma and combined small cell carcinoma.
• Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common form of lung cancer. It grows more slowly than small cell lung cancer and includes adenocarcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas and large cell carcinomas.
• Esophageal cancer starts in the esophagus, the tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach. It is not a common cancer and occurs mainly in men over 50 years old.
• Thymus cancer is cancer of the thymus, a small organ in the upper chest under the breast bone that helps the body produce certain white blood cells before birth and during childhood.
• Mediastinum tumors is a rare growth that forms in the mediastinum, or the area of the chest that separates the lungs and contains the heart, aorta, esophagus, thymus and trachea. These tumors are common and easily removed in most cases

Exceeding the National Standards in Cancer Care
