Evaluations

Our expert audiologists are board certified in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of hearing disorders. We’re trained and experienced in the use of state-of-the-art equipment that provides reliable hearing assessments for children and adults. Our evaluations include testing for tones and speech to provide a measure of the ability to hear and communicate. Results of our audiological evaluations can confirm normal hearing or identify a hearing loss or middle ear problem that would benefit from medical or rehabilitative care. All results and recommendations are explained to patients and their caregivers and a written report can be sent to your physician.

Hearing aid selection and fitting
Tympanometry provides an objective measure of eardrum function.
Otoacoustic emissions testing or Auditory Brainstem Response screening may also be performed to provide objective information about inner ear and brainstem function.
Auditory Processing Disorder testing investigates what you do with what you hear. It involves the use of controlled difficult listening situations to measure auditory memory, discrimination, figure/ground ability and temporal aspects of hearing. Candidates for an APD evaluation have normal hearing yet have difficulty remembering or following directions or demonstrate poor achievement in school. When this condition is detected, we provide a written report and recommend strategies to enhance listening skills.

Our audiologists are licensed by the state and have Certificates of Competency issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
