The pain management program offers a wide variety of treatment options including conservative drug therapies, epidural anesthesia and minimally invasive nerve stimulation techniques performed in our radiology and vascular labs. Our structure and setup brings together the full range of clinicians needed to comprehensively address all aspects of a patient’s condition.

These are used to treat:

  • Chronic knee pain caused by nerve entrapment: Treated with a common peroneal nerve block with nerve stimulation and ultrasound guidance
  • Migraine headaches: Treated with an injection in the base of the skull to numb the nerves
  • Cervical neck pain caused by arthritis of the cervical spine: Treated with a nerve block injection
  • Shooting arm pain caused by a pinched nerve: Treated with a cervical epidural
  • Chronic arm and neck pain: Treated with cervical spinal cord stimulation
  • Lower back pain: Treatment involves injection of local anesthetics, steroids, or narcotics into affected soft tissues, joints, or nerve roots to more complex nerve blocks and spinal cord stimulation

Pain control after surgery

Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. It is typical to expect a certain amount of pain following surgery; however, if pain does not subside with pain medication, there may be a more serious problem.

Your doctors and nurses will ask about your pain because they want you to be comfortable. It is important that they be alerted if their efforts to control your pain are not effective.
